U.S. Stock Futures Gain as Ceasefire Extension Calms Markets

U.S. stock futures are higher in premarket trading after President Donald Trump extended the U.S. ceasefire in Iran. Immediately after markets closed on Tuesday, Trump extended a two-week U.S. ceasefire, saying it was warranted due to Tehran’s “seriously fractured” government.
The moves came after stocks fell modestly on Tuesday as Vice-President JD Vance paused his trip to Pakistan to join peace talks amid uncertainty from Iran. Oil prices have stabilized this morning but WTI Crude remains elevated near $90 a barrel.
With little economic data due today, investor focus remains on headlines out of the Middle East along with earnings fallout from United Airlines (UAL), Boeing (BA) and GE Vernova (GEV).

Oil (/CL) – Oil prices are up 1.9% over $91 a barrel as uncertainty lingered over the trajectory of the U.S.-Iran conflict, as President Donald Trump extended a fragile ceasefire with Tehran but signaled tensions remain far from resolved.
Gold (/GC) – Gold prices are up almost 1% near $4770 as oil prices stabilized, following a U.S. extension of a ceasefire with Iran, eased fears of an inflation spike and prolonged high interest rates.
Bitcoin (/BTC) – The Crypto Future is up 4% near 78,000 in premarket trading.
VIX – The CBOE Volatility Index was up 3% on Tuesday and settled at 19.50 as stocks were lower.
U.S. Dollar (/DX) – The dollar is relatively flat in the session, trading at 98.436.
