Stocks Hold Near Highs as Markets Debate the Next Move

Futures are pointing toward a higher open for stocks as the final trading day of the week begins, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 (/NQ) showing the most strength. The U.S. and Iran fired on each other in the Strait of Hormuz, with each side claiming the other shot first – however, crude oil futures are rising modestly.
Coreweave (CRWV) is down more than 7% after earnings missed on EPS and guidance came in weak. Meanwhile, Akamai Technology (AKAM) is up almost 25% after announcing a $1.8B commitment for cloud computing services from a major AI provider.
Today’s earnings include Enbridge (ENB), TeraWulf (WULF), and Fluor (FLR), while economic data includes the U.S. Jobs Report and Michigan Consumer Sentiment.

Gold (/GC): Gold is up around +0.50% near 4,736, after yesterday’s slight -0.15% decline.
Bitcoin (/BTC): The cryptocurrency is little changed, up around +0.10% near 80,435, with early trading pointing toward breaking a two-day dip that brought price about -3% lower.
CBOE Vol. Index (VIX): The VIX is at about 17.10, almost unchanged since yesterday’s close of 17.08 and showing little net movement since Wednesday.
U.S. Dollar (/DX): The greenback is down about -0.07% around 97.87, reversing yesterday’s +0.26% gain.
Crude Oil (/CL): The U.S. benchmark is slightly higher at near $94.80 per barrel after recovering from downward spikes.
