QCOM, GOOGL Fall After Earnings, AMZN Up Next

U.S. stock futures are down in premarket trading after the latest corporate earnings, with investors weighing Alphabet (GOOGL) results. This follows a major sell-off in software stocks that drove the S&P 500 (SPX) and Nasdaq-100 (NDX) to a second straight day of losses.
Google-parent Alphabet (GOOGL) was the latest of the Magnificent Seven companies to report earnings results. Shares are down 4% after the company projected a sharp increase in artificial intelligence spending and called for 2026 capital expenditures of $175 to $185 billion, above expectations.
Chipmaker Qualcomm (QCOM) slid 10% after posting a weaker-than-expected forecast due to the global memory shortage.
Investor focus remains on earnings with Amazon (AMZN) results due after the close. Data will also be closely watched with Jobless Claims and the delayed JOLTS reports due this morning.
