Morning Watchlist: FOMC Expected to Hold Rates Steady

U.S. stock futures are relatively flat ahead of the opening bell as traders monitor the latest developments in the Middle East.

On late Tuesday, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to threaten Iran’s leader, saying that “our patience is wearing thin” and calling for “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”

Investors are also bracing for the Federal Reserve’s latest rate policy decision this afternoon. The FOMC is expected to hold rates steady, but investors will be keeping a close eye on Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s post-meeting comments.

The summary of economic projections (SEP) will also be closely watched for any changes to expectations from the individual members.

Markets are closed tomorrow for the Juneteenth holiday.
