U.S. stock futures are relatively flat ahead of the Wall Street open after the S&P 500 posted its fifth straight session of gains. Monday’s choppy session saw the S&P 500 swing to a slight gain and off of nearly 1% losses earlier in the day. The Benchmark Index is now down only 1.5% in April as it has rebounded 14% from the April 7th lows. Earnings are in focus today along with economic data including Consumer Confidence and Job Opening numbers.

• Oil (/CL) – Crude oil prices are down over 1.5% near $61 a barrel as investors lowered their demand growth expectations due to the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, the world’s two biggest economies.

• Gold (/GC) – Gold prices are down 0.7% near $3320 as softening trade tensions between the U.S. and its trading partners dulled the metal’s safe-haven appeal, while investors awaited U.S. economic data to assess the Federal Reserve’s policy path.

• Bitcoin (/BTC) – The crypto future is up around 0.5% to just below $96K.

• VIX – The CBOE Volatility Index was up over 1% on Monday and settled at 25.15 as stocks rallied off of session lows to finish mostly positive. It is flat in the premarket.

• U.S. Dollar (/DX) – The dollar is slightly positive around 99.1.

• Rosenblatt upgrades Arista Networks (ANET) to Neutral from Sell

• UBS upgrades Crane (CR) to Buy from Neutral

• BofA upgrades Upstart (UPST) to Neutral from Underperform

• TD Cowen downgrades Hims & Hers (HIMS) to Hold from Buy

• BofA downgrades ConocoPhillips (COP) to Neutral from Buy

• Stifel downgrades Builders FirstSource (BLDR) to Hold from Buy
